Qatar endeavors to strengthen ties of cooperation with Islamic peoples and states. It further provides all kind of material and moral support to the common issues of Arab and Islamic Ummah.

Qatar has spent three fruitful years while presiding over the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in the period 2000-2003. That lofty mission placed Qatar on top list of important and influential states. It demonstrated that a country's importance does not emanate from the number of its population, nor from the vastness of its geographical area. The chairmanship of the 9-th Islamic Summit Conference constituted a remarkable success for the Qatari diplomacy which asserts a day after day its dynamic presence on the regional and international arena. Qatar has always expressed by deeds not words, the extreme importance it attaches to strengthening of ties of cooperation with Islamic nations and the provision of all kinds of material and moral support with the aim of boosting the common issues of the Arab and Islamic Ummah. The state of Qatar has actively participated in the Tenth Islamic Summit Conference, convened in Kuala Lumpor, Malysia, from 16-18 October 2003.
